We are a group of board-certified specialists who chose the Sierras for the same reasons you did — the beauty of the landscape and the tight-knit feel of the community.

Our Story
Thirty years ago, we came together with a shared vision: to provide exceptional, independent anesthesia care to the Sonora community. In an era where healthcare is increasingly dominated by large national corporations, we're proud to remain locally owned and operated. Our providers don't just work here—they live here. Many were born and raised right here in Sonora, bringing a deep, personal commitment to the health and well-being of our neighbors.
All of our physicians are Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology
Alan Levine, MD received his medical degree from McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University and completed residency at the University of Washington. He has been with Sonora Anesthesia since 1997 and is the current Medical Director.
Charles Wright, MD received his medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and completed residency at the University of California at Irvine. He has been with Sonora Anesthesia since 1997.
Raechel Opsahl, MD received her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed residency at Loma Linda Medical Center. She joined SASMG in 2024.
Theodore Powers, MD received his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed residency at Loma Linda University Health Education Consortium. He has been with Sonora Anesthesia since 2012.
